Was there last weekend and the bathrooms were still closed for the winter and the outhouses were filled to nearly the top 🤮 In the bright side, the Dogwood trees and the rhododendrons were bolivar blooming

Best morning I've ever had was moonset and sunrise on a mountain top along the Appalachian trail, I hike at night, and rest during the day, granted I'm a minimalist hiker so I carry only essentials and this device is not essential for myself. Lol. Granted I don't carry food either, I do bring various garden seeds and plant mini gardens along the way, mainly leafy greens and herbs like rosemary sage, thyme etc.

Ya know not what was happening here but im surprised we dont hear more about bears trying to hibernate in dumpsters. Theyd be kinda perfect for what they need

You can tell that he is walking with a limp that's probably why he has had to go to dumpster diving 🤿

Yay! Someone else whom loves water fall hikes. My husband and I started hiking all over western Nc back in 2012. We are just about done but I think we have some small ones left. We are here this weekend with our 3 neice and nephews. So excited to introduce them to hiking. Been to nearly 99% of your water fall list and can’t wait to revisit

Eagle rock is another not so known 1/2 mile hike to the top and the best views around with lake lure below..eagle rock connects to the weed patch trail

the best app for hiking and biking is trail forks app..very accurate and its like having google maps for trails..i mountain bike all over this area and never had issues
